"When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."

I think the biggest advantage of having a DSLR camera is the control that you have. My favorite setting to play around with is the shutter speed because it makes such a drastic difference to how a picture turns out. For this series of pictures I used a very fast shutter speed with a low ISO to highlight a light source on an otherwise dark day (except for the last one).  I did a bit of color enhancement on a few of these pictures mostly adjusting the levels using GIMP.
